Riverside Restaurant Group was built on a simple idea: create a place where the neighborhood can gather, unwind, and feel at home. That vision took shape with the opening of Riverside Taphouse in March 2020, establishing a foundation rooted in consistency, quality, and community.
From the start, the direction of the group was led by Scott Schleupner, whose experience in Maryland’s restaurant scene helped shape both the concept and its place within Riverside. In the kitchen, the original menu was developed alongside Chef Bobby Bassett, bringing more than three decades of culinary experience to create a lineup of approachable, well-executed dishes that quickly became staples.
Working closely alongside them, Ryan Kehoe and Justin Cox played an integral role in building the day-to-day experience—helping bring the vision to life through operations, service, and the atmosphere that keeps people coming back.
As the neighborhood continued to grow, so did the group’s vision. In August 2025, Riverside Cantina was introduced—expanding on that foundation with a new concept while staying true to the same neighborhood-first approach. Designed to complement Riverside Taphouse, Riverside Cantina brought its own identity while reinforcing the group’s commitment to quality, consistency, and community.
Today, Riverside Restaurant Group continues to invest in what matters most: creating reliable, welcoming spaces where friends, families, and regulars can come together. Every detail—from the food to the environment—is shaped with the Riverside community in mind.
Riverside Restaurant Group believes in restaurants that reflect the people they serve. No shortcuts, no trends—just a commitment to quality, consistency, and a true neighborhood experience.
This restaurant was a great experience from start to finish. On top of the excellent food, the wait staff were pleasant, attentive, and made the meal even more enjoyable. I would definitely come back and recommend this spot to others.
I’ve been twice now, had Al Pastor tacos first visit and the Chipotle Chicken Sandwich next visit. Both were phenomenal. Chicken was crunchy, juicy and insanely flavorful. The yuca chips were a great touch. Margaritas were delicious too!
Absolutely amazing food, great service and fantastic time. This was the first time going here. Had the crab cake egg roll. They made me a crab cake Caesar wrap. (Fyi not in the menu). The Brussels sprouts off the chain. Give it 6 stars ⭐️ if I could. You won’t be disappointed.
Great food options! LOVED my beef barbecoa bowl, it was HUGE. My group got beers by I had a basic/skinny Herradura marg - wish I could've stayed for more. Sit at the bar too. FREE chips too - so many places charge for that. Run, don't walk to get there!
